Weddings with Neecol…
There is something so special about sharing the wedding morning with a bride and her close family and friends. If you are in the process of planning your big day I would love to hear about your plans and how I can enhance your day. Here I have outlined a few key points about my bridal hair and makeup process.
I do recommend that you have a trial before your big day, the main reason being that we get to know each other and you can feel completely at ease on the morning of your wedding.
What should I expect on my trial day?
The trial is the perfect chance to get to know each other. It will typically last between 2-3 hours giving us plenty of chance to go through your desired look for your wedding and answer any questions you may have. It will be carried out at your home or chosen location. The wedding morning should flow easily in a relaxed friendly environment and the trial is the basis of this.
Before we begin your hair and makeup we will have a chat about the look you would like to achieve. If you have any pictures of hair and makeup styles that you like then this is the ideal starting point. If you have no idea what you would like then I can give you advice and guidance as to what will suit you and the style of the wedding. You may have one specific style you wish to get right or you may want to try a number of styles, whatever you choose I will talk through the application and create a bespoke look for you on the day. This is also the time to talk through timings for the day and any ideas you have for your bridal party.
When should I book my trial?
There are no specific rules as to when you should book your trial. I personally would suggest around 4-8 weeks before the wedding date. This means you have plenty of time if there are any tweaks or changes you would like to make. It also means the style is fresh in your mind before the wedding day.
What should I bring with me to the trial?
If you have already chosen your veil and/or headpiece then it would be really helpful to bring along as this way you can see how the whole look fits together, it also helps with placement of the veil. Don’t worry if you haven’t got any of these pieces yet as you may wish to work a headpiece into the style you have chosen. I can give you guidance here and make suggestions as to what compliments the look.
Who should I bring with me?
This is completely personal to every Bride, however just bare in mind that the more people you have with you the more opinions there will be. I do want you to feel completely relaxed and comfortable so it can be beneficial to have a loved one with you however if you choose to come along by yourself then this can be just as relaxing and fun!
Who should have a trial?
Usually it is just the bride who has a trial for the hair and makeup, however it is absolutely fine to have a trial for any of your bridal party. You may have a very specific look for your bridesmaids or if someone feels particularly nervous about having their makeup or hair done then they may want a practice run. This can all be done on the same trial day or on different dates. It is also important to add that we will discuss the looks for the Bridesmaids and any other Bridal party member on the day of the trial. I am also happy to answer any questions or queries leading up to the wedding day.
What happens if I change my mind?
This is absolutely not a problem! If it is something minor and you are comfortable telling me about small changes over the phone or email I am more than happy to talk this through. You can always book in for a second trial, you may do this if your first trial was months before the wedding date.
Can I take pictures during the trial?
Of course! I absolutely encourage this! It is a perfect reference for you to look back on, especially if you are still looking for your perfect headpiece or veil. You can also look back on the pictures when you go for your final dress fitting, I have had many Brides who feel like they are very ‘done up’ sat in their jogging bottoms in their living room, the pictures will jog your memory when you actually have your dress on.
The Wedding Day
It’s finally here! I will arrive to your venue with plenty of time to set up and have a quick catch up before we begin. The main thing is you are feeling relaxed and ready to enjoy getting ready with your girls.
Everyone in the Bridal party will have their own time slot to ensure that the morning goes as smoothly as possible. I will also factor in time to do final checks once everyone is dressed and ready. I love getting involved and am more than happy to help with buttons and laces.
Now everyone is ready, a final spritz of hairspray and slick of gloss and you are ready for walking down the aisle.
